Many small historic farms on the fringes of East Leeds
struggle financially and succumb to residential development
pressures and part of our rural history is lost forever.
This survey aims to survey and record historic
farms and produce reports outlining their architectural
and historical development over time.
The first survey report of Gamblethorpe Farm has been
deposited at local libraries for the benefit of the local
community and a second one on Newsam Green is
currently being put together.
Our intention is to undertake further farm survey work
at Lazencroft and Colton.
